  • Belize Land Title Transfers

    In an effort to make the Belize real estate transfer process easier and more transparent, the Belize Government has approved for all land title transfers involving foreign nationals to no longer require the Central Bank’s approval before they are processed by the Lands and Surveys Department in the Ministry of Natural Resources.

  • Stamp Duty Amendment

    On November 1, 2017, the Stamp Duties (Amendment) (No. 2) Act, 2017 came into effect. The rate of stamp duty on transfer of land to a Belizean or CARICOM national remains at 5% and in the case of transfer of land to any other person the rate of stamp duty is 8%.
